I suck!

Ok, so I dropped off the face of the planet. It's not my fault! I got a new job in RL, which means I'm no longer working from home, which means I have so much less time for SL now! But things are evening out, and I'm hoping that will fix itself.

For now, my new plan is to blog weekly. Daily just isn't possible. I'm also going to try to focus on events and gatherings, though I'll still be doing fashion credits. I spend too much time on my homestead now, when I can be in world.

In the meantime, I haven't been able to take many photos recently, but here's one that I submitted to the Vanity exhibit at the Dominion. It's a great show, and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

This is also probably my favorite look right now. The skin is Leah from Glam Affair, and the Hair is Truth, but I don't have my client up (I'm at work) so I can't do full credits. Anyway, just a random, pretty much unedited shot because I can. Enjoy!

And I'll see you back here this weekend, when I can do an actual entry, hopefully after finding some mischief in-world!

52 Weeks of Color, Week 5!

How are we on week 5 already?! This year is flying by, and it's a little confusing for me. But at least I was able to find something in Patina, thanks to RezIpsa Loc!

And apparently, I already had eyes in something very close to patina, which worked out awesomely! I'm having more luck finding eyes and makeup that match the color than clothes! But look at me being all honey badger about it:

52 Weeks of Color, Week 4!

Took me long enough, huh? And this week's look is... simplistic, at best. I knew right away which gown I wanted to use, but the rest of it just refused to fall into place. Oh well!

Poulet Koenkamp created this gorgeous gown for the winner of her Essence of PurpleMoon contest, which I am definitely entering again next year. It comes in bunches of colors, of course, but this was the one I fell instantly in love with, and it happens to work perfectly for this week's challenge

And then I paired with... I don't know, some stuff. The eyes are my favorite addition, and they're a gift from Fashism in the latest edition of TooSexy magazine - you can pick up a copy in the Fashism mainstore. The skin and hair are ones I've had for ages, and the nails, of course, Mandala. Click through for the full sized version.

Here's hoping for a little more inspiration next week, for the color "patina." (Really, Luna? Meanie! :P)

52 Weeks of Color, Week 3!

This outfit was such a blast to put together, after I realized I had the pants already in my inventory. Of course, that was after a full week of frantic shopping, and purchasing quite a few things I will never wear again. But so it goes. :P

Oh man, the pictures are sizing really small again. Ah well, click through and all that.  Anyway, the pants were a free gifts from Deviance, ages ago, and I kept them because of the texturing, not the color. I'm in love with almost everything Deviance puts out, just because of the intricacy and clarity of the textures she uses. Even just the lines at the edges of her clothing layers - crisp and clean every time.

I may need to do a post just on Deviance... but that's another day! Or later today, if I'm feeling motivated. Today, we're looking at everything I put on that could possibly be called electric indigo. And one of them is another chance find in my inventory, this awesome eyeshadow from Rozena. I love the subtle star patterning in it, and it goes beautifully with the eyes I picked up from Poetic Colors just for this occasion. On sale, even!

Oddly enough, the lingerie was the hardest thing to find in a nice, vibrant indigo. But I couldn't pass up this cute piece from INDI Designs, I'm sure I'll be wearing it a lot.

Thanks again for restarting the challenge, Luna, it's so much fun! Can't wait for next week (even though IRON is going to kill me!).

52 Weeks of Color, Week 2

Ok, I've made it into week 2 without failing, I think that's an accomplishment. :P I have to admit, finding things I like in coral was a challenge. Not because I don't like the color, just because it seems to be less used than other colors. Lots of pink, lots of peach, but that perfect orangey-pink blend just didn't show up. Well, until designers heard about the challenge and hurried to create, I think. There's more coral in the marketplace than there was a week ago.

I was thankful for that, since I'd put together a couple of looks, but not found anything I really loved, until this morning. Luckily, I stumbled across a new-to-me designer with some very nice style.

Mini-dresses can be easily overdone, which is why I appreciate the clean lines, original accents, and the design that's reminiscent of those blocky fabric prints I love so much, without being overwhelming. And it is in the perfect shade of coral, in my opinion. In part because it's the shade my G Field pumps can match. ~grins~

I had another nice find in Earthstones, a necklace and earrings set that's not too formal, but definitely dresses up the otherwise simple outfit. Finish with some coral lipstick and some warm blonde hair (is there a better combination than coral and blonde?), and we've got our look!

Holy F&*k, my Face!

Oddly enough, that little exclamation was meant in the very best of ways. I usually do looks, more than I review one item, but I just got a new skin that is blowing my mind. Mynerva's Kianna is absolutely gorgeous, realistic without being creepy, and the level of detail is phenomenal. For L$1000, you get one makeup, and that's more than I'm generally willing to pay, but I didn't think twice here. Because... well here, look.

The shading is exquisite, the features are delicate without resembling anime, the thing has pores, for pete's sake. And by "one makeup," I mean a fresh, clean face that you can add anything to, and there are a number of variations in the pack. Including cleavage, of course, and freckles for those of you who like them. I've heard wailing about how hard it is to find well done freckles. Oh, and tattoo eyebrows in every color of the rainbow, to match just about any hair.

I have a feeling you'll be seeing me in this for a long time to come.

Darkness Falls

There were a couple of exceptions, but when I was a kid, I almost always would rather have been the Disney villain than the Disney princess. Unsurprisingly to those who know me, that hasn't changed a bit. Maleficent especially has been a favorite for many years, and when I saw this lovely dress from Azul, she was brought instantly to mind.

The daring collar, the exquisite lace, and the constricted fit, right down to the sweeping hem, all make me think that Maleficent would have been happy to add this piece to her wardrobe. And so, having grabbed it for myself, I set out to create my own version of a seductive, powerful, and above all dark Disney villainess.

But no matter how compelling the adversary, they needed a breathtaking realm in which to work their evil. Luckily, my dark queen found a home at Darkness Falls in Pandemonium. There was a fantastic, spooky detail around every corner. Hello, face of my nightmares!

This kid actually made me jump. I've seen enough horror movies to know not to poke him, but I have to admit to being very tempted.

A trapped soul, perhaps, victim of this heartless witch?

She'll never tell.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty...

The holidays are finally over, though my family is still in town, and as usual I'm left with a feeling of "meh." So SL is all about doing what makes me feel good right now, and sometimes what makes me feel good is putting on a really unreasonable dress and parading around until I feel pretty. ~grins~

On days like this, Son!a always fits the bill. Sexy and seductive, but still couture, it's impossible to not feel ravishing walking around in one of her gowns.

(I just realized I forgot to put on eyelashes. Oops!)

Turns out her jewelry is pretty great too, though I didn't know that until a few weeks ago. It's not the easiest in the world to fit - I do wish jewelry designers would tell us what the stats are on the shape they use to fit things, it would make SL just a bit prettier. But the detail work is excellent, and I love the design.

Blogger's being a bit weird in Firefox (I usually use Chrome, but Plurk doesn't work for me there, so I'm trying to switch back), so here's hoping it actually posts!
