Back to LOTD, apparently

So, as some of you know, things have been nuts for me in RL lately. Good nuts, just keeping me busy. So I haven't had much time to shop, let alone blog. But I have a couple of hours free to roam the grid right now, and haven't settled on the 52 Weeks of Color outfit I'm doing this week, so you get a look of the day!

A friend IMed me today asking if I knew where to get cute, cheap clothes. I didn't have anything quite as cheap as she was looking for, but I was reminded to go to one of my favorite inexpensive-but-adorable stores, Apple May Designs. And of course, while I was looking on her behalf, I had to shop on my behalf.

You can wear just about anything with this dress and look cute, so I pulled on some much-loved sandals that I've had in m inventory forever, threw on a skin of the same type, and a new hair from Exile that I am just loving, available at the Dressing Room now (or is it Dressing Room Blue? You'll find it.). The jewlery has been blogged before, except for the bangle, which is actually a cleverly disguised leash holder, made by a friend at the Dominion.

All in all, I'm happy with the look. It's light, fun, something a girl from ANTM might wear to a go-see, and you'd be amazed how often that dictates my clothing choice. I hope you enjoy, and stay tuned for a study in Iron. ;)

52 Weeks of Color, Week 3!

This outfit was such a blast to put together, after I realized I had the pants already in my inventory. Of course, that was after a full week of frantic shopping, and purchasing quite a few things I will never wear again. But so it goes. :P

Oh man, the pictures are sizing really small again. Ah well, click through and all that.  Anyway, the pants were a free gifts from Deviance, ages ago, and I kept them because of the texturing, not the color. I'm in love with almost everything Deviance puts out, just because of the intricacy and clarity of the textures she uses. Even just the lines at the edges of her clothing layers - crisp and clean every time.

I may need to do a post just on Deviance... but that's another day! Or later today, if I'm feeling motivated. Today, we're looking at everything I put on that could possibly be called electric indigo. And one of them is another chance find in my inventory, this awesome eyeshadow from Rozena. I love the subtle star patterning in it, and it goes beautifully with the eyes I picked up from Poetic Colors just for this occasion. On sale, even!

Oddly enough, the lingerie was the hardest thing to find in a nice, vibrant indigo. But I couldn't pass up this cute piece from INDI Designs, I'm sure I'll be wearing it a lot.

Thanks again for restarting the challenge, Luna, it's so much fun! Can't wait for next week (even though IRON is going to kill me!).

Rusalka, by PurpleMoon!

Poulet Koenkamp has done her first release of 1012, and it is gorgeous! This long, flowing brocade gown is so elegant, I can't stand it, and in so many wonderful color combinations. This one screamed January to me, but I'll be back for more, I know it.

I love the fit-to-flare skirt, it's my favorite style here and in RL. And the sculpted top was a breeze to fit, though the combination with a skirt layer did overlap a bit at the hips. A down side of SL, where EVERY skirt (layer) makes your butt look big.

Oh, and hey! If you want to try out sizing the sculpted top, hurry down to the main store now, because the PurpleMoon group just hit 11,000 members, and Poulet released a gift for the occasion - a cocktail version of the Rusalka dress, in a gorgeous dark purple!

Now I will say that the skirt was originally a lot longer. Almost down to the middle of my shins. But I prefer a shorter cocktail dress, and thankfully Poulet doesn't put goofy restrictions on her resizers, so this was a breeze to adjust. And still lovely!

So technically the entry is done, but I wanted to share this picture, because I'm in love with the angle, and totally didn't expect it to come out well. Whee!

Christmas Presents!

Yay, it's the redeeming feature of this time of year! :-P

I'm always amazing at the generosity of Second Life's designers, and this year has been no different. Since there are lots of gifts getting blogged, though, I don't want to duplicate their efforts. So, I'll show you a couple of things that I got just this morning!

G*Field makes my favorite pair of pumps, but also does stunning dress work that I just can't get enough of. While their Christmas gift is simpler than many of their dresses, it's no less well made, and is very cute.

It is a little long for my taste, I'm going to experiment with making it into a knee length, instead of calf length. But the flow of the dress is gorgeous, as always, and the delicate shimmer will grab the attention of everyone at your holiday cocktail party. It also come with a lovely, very delicate necklace, shown below.

Also shown below is the Christmas gift from LAQ. I am overjoyed that many designers are staying away from red and green, which was the trend last year, and going with the winter colors, ice princess theme.

And I have to admit, it's rare to see a "holiday" makeup that isn't overwhelming, so I'm really pleased with the makeup here.
